X3 Laser Level

Q. Where is the Strait-Line X3 Laser Level manufactured?
A. China

Q. What size battery is needed?
A. 2-AA batteries are required. Not included.

Q. How long will the batteries last?
A. Approximately 6.5 hours of continuous use.

Q. May the tool be used outdoors?
A. The X3 Laser Level is recommended for indoor use.

Q. What is the length of the projected laser line?
A. Up to 60 feet—the 360° swivel base provides a 120 foot working area.

Q. Why will the X3 Laser Level not stick to the wall?
A. Be sure to apply the correct side of the adhesive strip to the Laser Level. Clean the surface. Remove RED 3M Command label from adhesive liner. Attach strip securely to base of Laser Level. Remove BLACK “Wall Side” label and place securely against wall or surface.

Q. Does the X3 Laser Level come with 3M Command Mini Adhesive Strips?
A. Yes, the X3 Laser Level comes with four adhesive strips.

Q. Can I purchase additional adhesive strips?
A. Yes. 3M Command Strip Refills can be found at many retail locations.

Q. Is Laser Level base replaceable?
A. No. There are no replacement parts for the X3 Laser Level base.

Q. How does the Micro-Adjust Knob work on the X3 Laser Level?
A. Place the X3 Laser Level on the wall where you will need the laser line. Level the line using the bubble vials. Turn the knob to achieve the precise line location necessary.

Q. How does the two-wall leveling work? I thought all laser levels wrapped around to the adjacent wall.
A. All levels wrap-around the adjacent wall, however, the X3 Laser level offers a third bubble vial on the end of the turret to ensure that the adjacent wall is level. The turret pivots to enable you to use the third bubble vial to level the adjacent wall.

 

Laser Cube

Q. Where is the Laser Cube manufactured?
A. Manufactured in China to STRAIT-LINE specifications.

Q. What size battery is needed?
A. Three (3) 357-303 batteries are required. Three (3) batteries are included.

Q. How long will the battery last?
A. Approximately 30 minutes of continuous use with the included batteries

Q. Can the tool be used outdoors?
A. We recommend the Laser Cube for indoor use.

Q. What is the length of the projected laser line?
A. 10'

Q. How do I install batteries?
A. Take off the battery cover. Insert batteries one at a time with the positive (+) side facing the (+) on the Laser Cube. Note the positive (+) side of a 357-303 battery is the flat side engraved with a (+) symbol. The negative (-) side of most 357-303 batteries is not engraved with any writing.

Q. From what material is the base and body constructed?
A. ABS Plastic.

Q. What replacement parts are available?
A. There are no replacement parts available for the Laser Cube.

Q. What is the accuracy rating for the Laser Cube?
A. Laser Cube has an accuracy of 4/10" at 6'

Q. Does the Laser Cube come with 3M Command Mini Adhesive Strips?
A. The Laser Cube comes with 2 Command Mini Adhesive Strips.

Q. Can I purchase additional adhesive strips?
A. You can purchase additional Command Mini Adhesive Strips at most retailers. The Laser Cube should be used with the mini size of strips.

Q. How do I get the tool off the wall if I break the 3M Command Mini Adhesive strip?
A. If you gently slide a piece of dental floss behind the tool, you will be able to cut the tool off the wall and access the command strip. You will still need to stretch the strip slowly to remove it.

 

Laser Level 30

Q: Where is the Strait-line Laser Level 30 manufactured?

Q: What is the white plastic insert in the battery compartment labeled with “DR”?
A: This is a sensormatic label used by retail stores to control theft. Remove and dispose.

Q: May the tool be used outdoors?
A: The Laser Level 30 is recommended for indoor use.

Q: What is the length of the projected laser line?
A: Up to 15 feet. (The swivel feature provides a 30 foot working area.)

Q: Why will the Laser Level 30 not stick to the wall?

Q: How long will the battery last?

Q: May the tool be used outdoors?
A: The Intersect Laser Level is recommended for indoor use.

Q: What is the length of the projected laser line?
A: The Intersect Laser Level is capable of covering a 600-square-foot work area for the most demanding home improvement projects including wall and floor tiling as well as interior decorating projects such as picture arrays and multi-level shelving.

Q: Why will the Laser Level not stick to the wall?

Q: Does the Intersect Laser Level come with 3M Command Adhesive strips?
A: Yes, the Intersect Laser Level comes with eight adhesive strips and you can get extra refills.

Q: Should I Spend the extra money to get a Self-leveling Intersect Laser Level?
A: Yes. If you need a tool that will give you a better range of operation. Intersect will assist you on the most complicated home improvement projects and home decorating as well.

Q: What I have to do to start working?
A: To work on the wall you just need to figure it out where you want to start working. Stick the Intersect on the wall in lock position, it does not have to be level. Unlock the Intersect and you will see the tool auto leveling. To work on the floor, identify your starting point, and then stick the tool on the floor in the locked position.

 

Sonic Laser Tape 50

Q: Where is the Strait-line Sonic Laser Tape 50 manufactured?
A: China

Q: What size battery is needed?
A: 9V block battery is required. Not included.

Q: How long will the battery last?
A: Approximately 10,000 readings.

Q: What is the white plastic insert in the battery compartment labeled “DR”?
A: This is a sensormatic label used by retail stores to control theft. Remove and dispose.

Q: Where is the starting point for measurement? (zero inches)
A: The bottom of tool - “Measure From Base.”

Q: May the tool be used outdoors?
A: Yes, but it is recommended for indoor use.

Q: What is the range of measurement and how precise?
A:  Measures in 1” increments - 50’ range.

Q: What is the accuracy in the measurement?
A: Accurate to 99.5% of distance +/- 1 inch.

Q: Why does the display window read “Err”?
A1: Measurement greater than the max distance of 50ft.
A2: Target surface is too soft (carpet, fabric…)
A3: Reflective surface (glass, mirror)
A4: Movement while attempting to push READ button.
A5: Tool is not perpendicular to the surface you are pointing at.

Q: How do I clear the display window?
A: Press the 'C' button.

Q: How do I turn off the sonic tape measure?
A: The tool will automatically turn off after 30 seconds of no activity.

Q: How do I convert from standard measurement to metric?
STEP 1: Press the 'SEL' button
STEP 2: Toggle through the left/right arrow keys until you get to 'U'
STEP 3: Press 'SEL' again
STEP 4: Toggle through the left/right arrow keys until you get to the unit type you want.
NOTE: The Sonic Laser Tape 50 can measure in Inches, Feet, Yards, Centimeters and Meters.

 

Rolling Tape

Q: Where is the Strait-line Rolling Tape 300 manufactured?
A: China

Q: What size battery is needed?
A: 3-AAA batteries are required. Not included.

Q: How long will the battery last?
A: Approximately 30 hrs of continuous use.

Q: Where is the starting point for measurement? (zero inches)
A: Start on the edge of the tool that it is indicate on the screen. Look for the left or right arrows to show the left or right edge respectively.

Q: May the tool be used outdoors?
A: Yes, but it is recommended for indoor use. To be used outdoors it is important that the surface have to be smooth and clean.

Q: What is the range of measurement?
A:  Measurements less than the minimum distance of 1 foot 10 inches or greater than the maximum distance of 50 feet.

Q: What is the accuracy in the measurement?
A: Accurate to 1/16 inch.

Q: Why does the display window read “Err”?
A1: Measurement greater than the max distance of 327ft.

Q: How do I turn off the Rolling Tape 300?
A: The tool will automatically turn off after 120 seconds of no activity.
